Apple has taken control of a domain called iphone5.com

Apple has taken control of a domain called the iphone5.com, which was a site that focused on providing the latest iphone 5 rumours.  A few weeks ago Apple filed a complaint to the world Intellectual Property Organization, claiming that this website has stolen Apples intellectual property. According to The Next Web  the world Intellectual Property Organization has now made its judgement by siding with Apple.  Now the  website has been taken over and transferred to a Corporation Service Company, this is a company that specialises in brand protection and is apparently in the employ of Apple.

This type of action taken by Apple is not new, the company has taken action to protect its brand names in the past on a number of occasions. The domain  iPods.com was a classic example of this move by Apple. But Apple have not always opposed certain domain names that carry its trademarks.

New price and date rumours of the ipad mini release

Price and date rumours of the ipad mini emerged again on the internet over the last few days. According to iMore ,which is a reliable source for apple rumours.  The ipad mini will be released in October and the price will be between $200 to $250’s and it will look virtually identical to the new ipad. But it will have a smaller screen with a 7 inch display, imore go on to say that the screen resolution will be slightly better than the new ipad, which is 2048×1536 resolution display with a pixel density of around 264 ppi, compared to the ipad mini which will get a 2048×1536 resolution display with a pixel density of around 326 ppi

In order to bring the price down Apple is likely to release it with only 8gb of internal memory.

If all these rumours are true it will be able to give the Amazon Kindle fire a run for its money.

iPhone 5 with LTE could prove to be very popular in the US

An iPhone 5 with LTE could prove to be very popular in the US according to a recent survey which was done in March amongst mainly Macworld readers and PC world readers.  A whopping 70% of Macworld readers said they would go and buy the next iphone with LTE and 48% said they would pre order the phone.  But 40 per cent of mobile users who read neither PCWorld nor Macworld said they would buy the LTE iPhone 5. Surprisingly only 15% of PC world readers said they would be the iphone 5.

This survey went to to say that 41 per cent said they would go with an iphone on the AT&T network, which was top in the survey. 29 per cent said they would go with Verizon, so taking second place.

 Source PC World

Overall this survey suggests that the notion of the iphone 5 coming with LTE will prove to be a winning combination for apple. There is a good chance we will see LTE technology in the next iphone, due to the shear demand that the consumer has for faster devices. If Apple does not introduce LTE technology, then Apple could jeopardise its market share and its image as being the company for innovation and excellence.

Apple’s profits almost doubles in the first quarter of 2012

Apple’s profits have almost doubled in the first quarter of 2012.  Sales rose 73% to $46.3 billion from $26.7 billion for the same time a year ago according to Bloomberg. These exceptional results were mainly due to the doubling of the sales of the iphone and the ipad within the year. These results went way past the market analysts expectations and as a consequence apple’s shares jumped almost 8% in after-hours trading to $453.16. But the majority of the increase in revenue came from sales outside of the US, these sales accounted for 64% of the quarter’s revenue, which suggests that the US market is reaching saturation point. Further evidence of this comes from Verizon Wireless that has reported  in recent weeks a slight dip in iPhone sales.  AT&T has also experienced a dip too in sales it had activated 4.3 million iPhones in this quarter which is down by 7.6 million compared to the fourth quarter.

The sales of the mac were also good, but not as exceptional. They were up from  5.2 million  in this quarter compared with 4.1 million a year ago.

Apple working to introduce 3D technology on new devices

Evidence has come to light that suggests that Apple is working on 3D technology for its devices, evidence comes from Apples own career website that states that  Apple is advertising a position for a iOS Software Engineer with work experience in “multi-view stereo and 3D reconstruction” and “cameras and surfaces in a 3D environment”.

Apple needs to develop this technology and other technology’s such as 4g, near filed communication, because it is being left behind by the competition. Apple cannot afford to make the same mistakes as Nokia did a few years ago.

New ipad Mini possibly coming in the 3rd quarter

There are rumours circulating that suggest that the ipad mini is coming in the 3rd quarter. This news comes from a reliable Chinese source.

The ipad mini will have a smaller screen probably measuring around 6 to 7 inches and the internal memory will be smaller than the tradition apple ipad sold. It will sell at a much lower price probably around the 200$ mark , so it is able to compete directly with Amazons Kindle fire. But the deceased Steve jobs was said to be not keen on a smaller screen screen size.
